I will ask Sting where they sourced those shorts and will let you know. They are part of Sting’s extensive collection of outfits and costumes, primarily reelecting school, institutional, military and reformatory wear from the 1950’s and 1960’s and some other historical periods.
The uniform Danny is wearing is based on what a boy attending school in some British colony in the 1950’s might have worn. It is, of course, Danny’s more contemporary assets which fill the shorts out so well.

The shorts are exactly like the school shorts I wore in winter at secondary school in New Zealand in the 1950’s! I still have a pair of shorts still which I occasionally put on in order to be caned!
They were generally very tight fitting, especially when one bent over!
They were advertised by the clothing store, Hallensteins, as “the shorts that take the beating!”

Sorry I didn’t get back to you. I did ask Sting but they must have missed my e-mail, as they have been very busy. I will ask again.
I seem to recall that they obtain a lot of their authentic 50’s style clothing, such as the canvas gym shoes, from a supplier in the Far East, and the shorts may come from the same place. However, I will confirm that.

I don’t care for the seemingly automatic stripping of the naughty boy with the punishment hardly begun. Whatever reason might be given for it, I find it much more visually satisfying to have the boy’s bottom framed by a shirt and the pants pulled down. Especially if we’re talking about a smooth, nicely rounded backside, it’s just detracting from its visual charm if the boy’s whole body is naked.
This notion that you have to go heavy on the submissiveness and humiliation by stripping the boy makes it very easy for me to just ignore the image.
